Webelos (WE BE LOyal Scouts) is for 4th grade children expanding their outdoors skills, sense of responsibility and participating in many adventures. The Webelos start to take ownership of their Cub Scout experience. With constant guidance from their Den Leader, the Webelos help decide which adventures they will accomplish. Our parents and den leaders allow the scouts more and more control, decision-making power, and responsibility as they progress in skills, abilities, and maturity.
If Webelos is your Scout's first year, we recommend that they wear the Tan Scouting America Uniform Shirt they can continue to wear in with a Troop in when the crossover in their 5th grade year. If the Blue Uniform Shirt worn as a Bear still fits, the Scout may continue to wear it until the end of the 5th grade year. In either case, the Webelos wears the plaid Webelos Neckerchief.
To earn the Webelos badge of rank, scouts must complete six required adventures and choose two elective adventures. Scouting America offers detailed information about these required and elective adventures, including step-by-step instructions for completing them, on their website.
