The 4th Step on the Cub Scout Trail
If a Cub Scout has completed the second grade (or is 9 years old), they may start earning the Bear rank. Bears grow strong learning cooking skills, building with hand tools and pocket knife safety. The Scout will need a Bear Scout Handbook, and a Bear Neckerchief. This part of the advancement trail is intended to prepare the scout to begin earning the Webelos rank after completing third grade.
To earn the Bear badge of rank, scouts must complete six required adventures and choose two elective adventures. Scouting America offers detailed information about these required and elective adventures, including step-by-step instructions for completing them, on their website.
